By accessing or using Curio Comp ("we," "our," or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Curio Comp provides collectibles identification and valuation services through a combination of artificial intelligence technology and human expert review. Our services include:

  • AI-powered identification of collectibles from uploaded photographs
  • Automated preliminary valuations based on market data and comparable sales
  • Expert human appraisals conducted by qualified specialists
  • Educational content, guides, and market information

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service.

4. Appraisal Disclaimers

Valuations are estimates, not guarantees. All appraisals and valuations provided through Curio Comp are professional opinions based on available information at the time of assessment. They are not:

  • Guarantees of market value or sale price
  • Formal certificates of authentication (unless explicitly stated as such)
  • Insurance appraisals (unless specifically requested and provided by a certified appraiser)
  • Binding offers to buy or sell

Market values for collectibles fluctuate based on supply, demand, condition, and other factors beyond our control. Actual sale prices may differ from our estimates.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service - including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, software, and AI models - are owned by Curio Comp and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

6. User-Uploaded Content

When you upload photographs or other content to the Service:

  • You retain ownership of your original content
  • You grant us a limited license to use your photos solely for the purpose of providing our identification and appraisal services
  • We will not sell your photographs to third parties
  • We may use anonymized, aggregated data derived from submissions to improve our AI models and services
  • You represent that you have the right to upload any content you submit

7. Payment Terms

Certain appraisal services require payment. By purchasing a paid appraisal:

  • You agree to pay the fees displayed at the time of purchase
  • All fees are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated
  • Payments are processed through our third-party payment provider
  • Refunds may be issued at our discretion if we are unable to complete an appraisal
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Curio Comp and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Decisions made based on our appraisals or valuations
  • Financial losses from buying, selling, or insuring collectibles based on our estimates
  • Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated identifications
  • Service interruptions or data loss

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be addressed through informal negotiation by contacting us at support@curiocomp.com. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the English language.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect, including but not limited to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
